The first coin in the Bigger Picture series re-imagines Canada’s 10-cent circulation coin, shifting the focus to the Bluenose’s legacy as a working fishing vessel, and it shines a silvery spotlight on the dorymen who were the backbone of the North Atlantic fishery.  Like a coin within a coin, each circulation design is re-created on a larger 5 oz. fine silver piece that provides an extended canvas for the engraved-only art.

The reverse of the coin reimagines Canada’s 25 cent circulation coin by the representation a miniature of the Canadian 25 cents coin and three other reindeers in the background getting out of the water. The reverse also incorporates the inscriptions: “CANADA” – the country of issue, “2022” – the year of issue and “25 CENTS” – the face value of the coin.
