The legend of St George and the dragon makes a dramatic return to coins with a new bullion coin range from The Royal Mint. The contemporary reverse design by Jody Clark features a dynamic depiction of the fight between good and evil, with St George driving his lance into the body of the beast lurking below his rearing horse. 

Dating from around the eleventh century, the tale of St George and the dragon has been interpreted many times, with renowned artists finding inspiration in the legend. It has proved an enduring theme for coin designs, with Benedetto Pistrucci’s depiction on the reverse of The Sovereign perhaps the most celebrated. St George and the Dragon is available to investors and collectors in a range of gold and silver editions, including a special one kilogramme silver bullion coin.

PRESENTATION:

Each coin is not packaged in a protective acrylic capsule. However, orders of 25 coins come in durable tubes with embossed seals from the Royal Mint.
