Thirty-five years later, Canada’s bullion maple leaf appears untouched by time on our coins, where its natural beauty has been enhanced by different finishes and technologies over the years—including Ultra High Relief, as seen on this 5 oz. 99.99% pure silver coin. The coin’s reverse boasts an extraordinary peak relief height of 3 mm, where the shiny Ultra High Relief maple leaf is backed by a laser-engraved “SML anniversary” field pattern. Look closely and you’ll notice seven maple leaves with the number “35”—a pattern that repeats five times for a total of 35 mini SMLs that form each ring, or one leaf for every year since the first SML was issued.
