Deriving its verdant colour from nickel, chrysoprase makes an eye-catching jewellery stone when polished. Also known as ‘Australian jade’, the gorgeously green insert in this coin perfectly epitomises the lush habitat and remarkable biodiversity of Australia’s rainforests.

DESIGN:

The map-shaped chrysoprase insert is surrounded by depictions of iconic rainforest fauna and flora, including a flying fox, a possum, a tree snake, a kingfisher, a crocodile, a butterfly, a tree frog, a cassowary, and an orb-weaving spider. As well as representations of plant life, the design incorporates ‘P125’ mintmark signifying The Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary in 2024, and the coin’s weight, purity, and year-date.

The coin bears the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, and the monetary denomination.

PRESENTATION:

The coin is housed in a classic display case with a clear lid. Packaged with an illustrated shipper, the coin is accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity.
