Celebrating the Year of the Snake, this remarkable release is in fact four legal tender 1oz silver proof pieces that fit together in the shape of an ancient Chinese ‘ban liang’ coin - round with a square hole in the middle.

The snake is significant in traditional Chinese culture as the sixth animal symbol in the ancient lunar calendar. People born under the auspices of the snake in 2025, 2013, 2001, 1989, and every 12th preceding year are said to be intelligent, independent, and charming.

DESIGN:

The coloured artistry of each coin in this set come together to create a pleasing panoramic tribute to the snake. The vividly coloured coins portray individual yellow, green, blue, and red snakes on interlinking background imagery constituting a Chinese landscape featuring a traditional pagoda, a moon bridge, a waterfall and a meandering river. Each coin also features The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.

PRESENTATION:

Accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity, the set is housed in a classic display case and superbly illustrated shipper.
