2022 The Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen 1 Kg Silver Proof Coin

The Royal Mint has struck the coins of the British monarchy for more than a thousand years. Now, as Her Majesty The Queen becomes the first British monarch to reach a Platinum Jubilee, we are paying tribute with an outstanding collection of limited-edition, precious metal coins. The experienced coinage artist John Bergdahl, who has a talent for capturing historic royal occasions, was the perfect choice for the range. He has created a commemorative portrait of The Queen, which is reminiscent of both the 1953 Coronation Crown created by Gilbert Ledward RA and the 2002 Golden Jubilee Crown by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS. He has also created two elaborately detailed reverse designs inspired by regal symbols that have featured on coins throughout history. One design is framed by a royal mantle, as used on the coins of William IV, and the second has been reserved for the grandest coins in the collection and features a rococo cartouche that surrounds the royal cypher. The range includes a number of precious metal editions and each piece is struck in either fine gold or fine silver to Proof standard, which highlights every detail of the elaborate designs
